Put simply Chromecast lets you solve the problem of, “I want this thing on my device to show up on my TV.” There are a few complexities and limitations but that’s basically it, you see a thing on your phone/tablet/browser and you want to put it on your TV with one or two taps.

Cyanogen Inc., is a newly created company that has been producing the slowly adopted, but somewhat popular CyanogenMod custom Android ROM. They just released a new app called the CyanogenMod Installer which will unlock the user’s boot loader, root their device, and flash CyanogenMod to their phone with almost zero extra effort. Former Senator, current Republican presidential contender, and well-known douchecanoe Rick Santorum is frothy at the mouth because Google is not changing the ordering of their search results like he wants them too. Sex columnist Dan Savage’s highly publicized and highly successful 2003 campaign to re-define “santorum” as a byproduct of anal sex and the subsequent Google-bombing of the term has resulted in a hilarious (well, from my perspective) and damaging first page of search results. Google+ is a new social networking site. Yes, new social networking sites come out every other week. Yes, no-one cares. Yes, Google has tried to get into the social networking field before, and failed. This might be different. Most social networking sites are intended to be additional to whatever social networks you already use. Hell, many even have buttons to share stuff from them to Facebook or Twitter.
Google+ is different. The message of Google+ is that it does everything Facebook does, and more, but also lets you control your privacy and sharing better than Facebook. The goal of Google+ is nothing short of consigning Facebook to the dustbin of history, alongside MySpace. Continue reading
