We’re all friends here, right? Okay, well, I have a problem. I’m a gadget addict. I really don’t know what comes over me. I just have to face facts. I have a certain love of complete, utter, crap.

After thumbing through a quite long and a bit overwrought Atlantic Monthly article titled “All the Single Ladies”, I was struck by some of the juxtaposition the author, Kate Bolick, discusses about the feelings of loneliness she felt in not walking down the aisle with a seemingly perfect man at age 29, and years later, rectifying that decision with an almost feminist war cry to embrace the concept of often maligned spinsterhood, which some would have you believe should only be whispered in dulcet tones and not too close to a Ouija board. This isn’t a test. Women will not fail at life if they marry, and remaining single doesn’t mean there’s a lonely-lady cat sweater with your name on it. Change the rules, if you dare. Continue reading
This just in. Fox is suspending their new hit show New Girl, starring doe-eyed, girl twee, Zooey Deschanel, to make room for more bloated-with-suck episodes of that American Idol and America’s Got Talent nonsense spawn The X-Factor, oh, and something about baseball too.
It’s no secret that The Playboy Club was a gamble to begin with. Since it was announced that NBC would take on the gentlemen’s club story, the project was met with opposition. Was it too much of an undertaking for NBC to throw their hat not only into the “period drama” ring, but also the “adult content “ ring so to speak?
You know what Hollywood thinks happens at weddings? Well, if it’s a small indie film, mostly some drunk and/or high relative will appear to rain Rehab-escaping havoc on just everyone. ::Red Band Trailer:: Yeah, that means cursing and stuff. Continue reading

Some of these guys have cropped up in the news lately, but they’re not a new faction to our society. No sir. I’ve been talking about Deli Rubes and Coffee Shop Hobos for years. Since about 2007 or so, and the affliction that they suffer from hasn’t gotten much better. I think I’ll call this affliction “Me-ism.” Yes, yes, I know there’s probably some other well-nuanced term I could use. Narcissism, or self-centeredness….yawr, whatever. No, I’m going with the very simple…Me-ism. Continue reading
What’s up, bro? HA! No seriously, I would never say that. He’d kill me. That’s the hair of death. Grim Reaper brought to you by He-Man. Okay, yes, there are important things to discuss. In honor of today’s day of manly-man things, let’s talk about something that may be overlooked on a day full of power tools and sporting events. Hair etiquette for men. I think this is a thing that exists, or at the very least should exist. Why, you may ask? Well, because there are just some things that shouldn’t ever be done. Ever. Continue reading
You know one thing Zombies don’t currently have? Well, they own all of Hollywood, that’s for sure. And, yawr, they’re pretty popular in books too. And, yes, also, some of us may have zombie apocalypse survival kits. What?! It’s not just me. Anyway, now zombies will have their own convention. Like for serious, guys. Continue reading
So, have you noticed that in all these, “I’m a good guy who does bad things” movies at some point the main character always ends up in the Tough Guy Uniform of jeans, a black t-shirt, and a leather jacket? Yes, okay, so here’s another one of those movies.
I think we all just won a date with Chris Christie. Well, that’s what the media would like anyway. Sure, yes, we get it. The Republican presidential candidate field is littered with wishy-washy, strange jokers, who can’t go more than two weeks without some sort of gaffe, image problem, or just plain inability to connect with more than just the Tea Party. So some Republicans are frustrated, but even more to the point, the media is just beside itself with trying to latch onto a candidate that actually offers a consistent message, and a measure of stately, unshakeable, staunch republicanism that can actually take Obama to the mat.
Enter the makings of a savior, Chris Christie. Continue reading
