Today’s celebrations include cake, kids, sun, and Jamie Foxx’s best role. With the rapture coming this weekend, there’s no better time to enjoy a sinfully delicious dessert. And what better way to impress Jesus than with some selfless volunteerism? Also, don’t forget to start a base tan today, so you won’t get burnt on the trip up. Or down, as the case may be. Party On! OK kids, here is the Crasstalk Meet Up Page. Please feel free to use this to organize your shindigs, throw downs, and box socials.
To find this post in the future just go to the Community tab on the menu at the top of the home page and go to Meet Ups. If you add a new meet up make sure to put it into a couple of open threads so that people know to check the page. Special thanks to Madfall for suggesting this page for you to organize your debauchery. Comment.

Eli Pariser makes a great case for why the Internet, as we know it today, is not the information free-for all that we all believe it to be. Editors, the gatekeepers of the past, have been replaced by algorithms that have been designed to tailor Google search results and Facebook News Feeds to your tastes and interests, while leaving out ideas that are uncomfortable but important. Great video from TED2011. Comment.
You see that deplorable display of engineering up there? That’s a 1985 Pontiac Fiero. It was a mean two seater with the engine in the back, right over the gas tank. In short, it was a freaking death trap. Continue reading
Good morning! 56 degrees in midtown. We’re going up to 70 today. Full forecast and a check of the roads coming up. First — Here’s what’s happening. Continue reading
Reports from the upfronts continue as CBS and the CW, the slower children of the network family, finally catch up to the other kids and establish their schedules for the fall season. For a look at the ABC, Fox, and NBC pickups, click here. Continue reading
