You Don’t Follow Enough Bearded Men on Twitter

Quick question.  How many bearded men do you follow on Twitter?  If you answered less than 5 you are a total slacker. There are two important things about following people (or spam bots) on Twitter, you should have a well rounded list of both bearded and non-bearded people and you should always be loyal to your fellow Crasstalkers.

The good news is now you can combine those two guiding lights of Twitter following.

QOTD: What Would You #AskObama?

I’m sure that I’m not the only one that had an email from the White House land in my inbox today, pimping the President’s Twitter Town Hall. Today at 2pm Eastern time, President Obama will answer questions generated by the Twitter-verse.  Allegedly, the folks at Twitter have worked up a way to make sure that he gets questions that are being asked frequently and hit with the #AskObama hashtag. I’m sure they actually have, I just stink at technology. Continue reading

The Best #Weinergate Tweets

Have political-sex-scandals always been this much fun, or is there just something about a Weiner joke in 140 characters or less? I’m going with the latter and I have a feeling you will too.

We all remember how it started – the simple, almost-scandalous-but-not-really tweet seen ’round the world. That, my friends, was just the beginning. Since the original tweet, Twitter has been all … a-twitter on the issue.

Stephen Colbert wanted to get in on the fun so much, he tweeted his butt cheeks! Continue reading

Wales Will Have Water No Matter What Twitter Says, and Other Tall Tales

Apparently the spreading of crazy rumors isn’t only a United States thing. Customers in the Rhondda Cynon Taf, Rhymney and Caerphilly areas of Wales got their panties in a bunch, because a letter was sent out that some repairs were being made to the local water works. Misreading this well-meaning missive, some overly helpful soul got on the Twitterz™ and said that everyone’s water supply was being cut off. This had the effect of swamping the Welsh Water Call Centre (see that spelling? classy!) so the folks in charge had to get to Teetering and Tweetering to let the public know that their water supply was not being cut off. Jeez Louise, already. Continue reading

All the Tweets That Are Fit to Print

Once upon a time, in a land called Twitter, the residents of this incredibly chaotic, yet endlessly fascinating land, contributed their words of wisdom – all in 140 characters or less, for those of us plebes for our entertainment.

Some sort of wedding appears to have occurred, resulting in an overwhelming number of droplets of wisdom from the Twitterians.  The lovely Rachael Maddow attended the NRA convention, Jesse Tyler Ferguson contemplates gender perception in the media, Seth Meyers’ mocking spread far and wide, and several other random tales were shared in Twitterland, including the fact that Stephen Moffat is the coolest dad in the world.  At least to this dork.

Well hello again Crasstalk friends!  I hope your weekend was pleasant, productive, or at least fun and that you’re easing into your week. It seems our faithful Crasstalk bretheren were among some of the most entertaining content of the Twitterverse over the weekend, so let’s recap, shall we?

Boobookitteh has a question:

Our own leniribbons brings up a good point:

I don’t know who this guy is, but this entertained me.

Patton Oswalt is actually pretty funny.  I had no idea until Twitter.

Once more, Death Star PR comes through.

Simon Pegg witnesses a mother killing her child’s dream.  A moment, please:

Men, please don’t try this at home:

This Julius Sharpe guy is a writer for Family Guy and my latest Twitter followee:

That’s all for now, ladies and gents.  If you know of an awesome member of the Twitterverse, please let me know.  In the meantime, keep Tweeting, bitches!

Masterpiece Twitter: Michael Ian Black and Jessica Simpson

By Danzig and Dancing Queen

During its nearly five-year storied history, Twitter has remained steadfast in its commitment to bringing the best…or just bringing 140 character expressions from individuals around the world. The Twitterverse is filled with eclectic characters and contemporary celebrities who have filled the ether with their random thoughts on life, love and luxury.

In this weekly series, Danzing and Dancing Queen will risk brain cells and credibility scouring the Twitterscape to bring you the best of Twitter. We will then perform dramatic recitations of these tweets for your listening pleasure. Please, enjoy.

This week, we bring the the intentionally funny, Michael Ian Black and the not so intentional, Jessica Simpson.

Michael Ian Black as read by Danzig:

Jessica Simpson as read by Dancing Queen:

*Danzing and Dancing Queen are not professional actors, but do play actors on Crasstalk.

It’s Time to Update Your Twitter Settings

To enable this feature:

  • Login to Twitter
  • On the upper right you should see your avatar and username.  Click this.
  • Select Settings
  • Click the check box next to “
  • Click Save
  • Enter your password to verify

That’s it, now you use HTTPS all the time.  Keep Tweeting those Crasstalk stories.
