GOP Debate Liveblog: Pizza Man Rising

Yes, there are still more of these damn things. As American greatness slides into the dustbin of history, the GOP is here to fiddle us out with the crazy. Frost your beer glasses, kids, it is the only medicine you will be getting after they repeal Obama Care. Occupy Wall Street? Fuck it, let’s just cut to the chase and all try to occupy Canada before they build a Freedom Fence of their own to keep us out. Continue reading

Imagine it in HD!

“In one of the most unusual twists in niche programming, the global fast-food chain is launching the McDonald’s Channel, a digital network of exclusive original content targeted at dine-in customers.”—L.A.Times 10/17/11

Let’s program this thing, shall we?

Easy-Peasy Slowcooker Chili

Greetings, fellow-members of the I Hate to Cook But I’m Stuck Doing It Club. Here is a recipe for excellent chili. I’ve been making chili for so long I can’t remember the last time I looked at a recipe for it, so what you’re getting is the distillation of many years experimentation (aka, using whatever’s in the house that is conceivably suitable for chili on the day the chili is being made). Scrabble is Serious Business

The World Scrabble Championships were held last weekend in Warsaw, Poland and one competitor wanted a do-over. Believing his opponent had removed a ‘G’ and concealed it on his person, Chollapat Itthi-Aree of Thailand, demanded that tournament officials strip-search his opponent, Ed Martin of England. The Scrabble authorities declined and Martin went on to win their match by a single point. Continue reading

Being Leaderless Will Hurt OWS

An article by DNAinfo today discusses the breakdown of negotiations between OWS and residents around Zuccotti Park.  This past Friday, Councilman Chin hosted a meeting between OWS and some residents to address some concerns about noise, garbage and safety in Zuccotti Park.

Chin commented that the OWS representatives seem very reasonable and agreed to certain restrictions but apparently do not have any real authority to negotiate or enforce any agreements.  “The residents in the area are overwhelmed, and rightfully so,” Chin continued. “At this point, I have to conclude that OWS is unable, or unwilling, to address the concerns expressed by the community. We have tried to work with the protesters and to support them, but that support is waning.” Continue reading

QOTD: What’s Your Ideal Birthday Dinner?

It’s your birthday! What would you like for supper? Someone else will lovingly do the shopping, and pay for all the ingredients, including a nice bottle of wine or two or three. They’ll do the cooking, and wash the dishes afterwards, leaving the kitchen spotless. (Why do so few people understand that washing the dishes automatically includes wiping down the counters? Hm. A question for another day.)

Shall I go first? Do please join me for a lovely meal. I’ll get out the good china. Continue reading

Tuesday News Roundup

All right slunts, here’s your damn politics/news post. Because it is really difficult for me to do these everyday, it would be helpful if I could get a couple of volunteers to help out with these. So have at it. Feel free to argue to your heart’s content about the issues of the day. Try and keep it civil or I will be forced to only post stories from Michele Malkin and the Blaze. I am not kidding. Continue reading
