I am writing this post on Sunday and I must say that I am quite anxious about Monday and how Wall Street will act in response to this downgrade. We will get an inkling of the response once the Asian and European markets open on what is Sunday night in the US, but I suspect it won’t be pretty. I do suspect some of the response is already built-in given last week’s market malaise. My bigger concern is the institutions which hold US debt as reserves that may be forced to unload it do to their charters’ requirement of holding AAA debt. Continue reading

A perfect story for our young and childless Crasstalkers.
There is a new wave of DINK – double income, no kids. And with this wave comes restrictions on when or even an outright banning on children allowed at restaurants, grocery stores, and first-class seats in airlines. You may be surprised to hear this, but I am all for it.
I remember going to Jean Georges about seven years ago and shocked that two parents thought it was a good idea to bring their 6 year old to eat with them there. They gave their daughter some sort of hand-held game to keep her occupied and quiet, an elementary school pacifier. That child had no more reason to be there than a kitten. Not appropriate. Askmen.com surveyed 70,000 men who claimed they would ditch a partner who gained too much weight. Only 20% of women made that same claim via Cosmopolitan, Askmen.com‘s sister site. Shocker! Continue reading
What is the deal with Texas and cheerleading controversies?
First there was Wanda Holloway who hired a hit man to kill the mother of her daughter’s cheerleading rival. Who the eff has a cheerleading rival? I cannot fathom what that could possible mean.
Then there was a Silsbee, Texas cheerleader who refused to cheer for an athlete who was indicted of raping her. The superintendent, his assistant and school principal told the cheerleader that if she didn’t cheer for the alleged rapist, she had to go home. Can you imagine? Continue reading

I believe in limited government, more power to the states and more responsibility to the individual. I’m not a heartless conservative who believes that all federal social programs are ridiculous and unnecessary. We need that safety net, but I may argue that it is woefully inefficient and could use some tightening up.
I read a December 2009 USA article that really illustrates, to me, that our federal government is growing too large. It makes me concerned that our federal government is bloated and full of waste. Continue reading
File this under About Fucking Time!
I applaud Reverend Eric Elnes, the pastor of Countryside Community Church in Omaha Nebraska, for leading the way in dispelling the notion that Christianity is anti-gay. Continue reading
Robert Sayegh, an author of children’s literature and former Sesame Street writer, was booted from a Atlantic Southeast Airlines flight when he said ‘fuck‘ after hearing his flight was going to be further delayed. Sayegh is from Brooklyn where F-bombs are a part of the vernacular.
Sayegh apparently muttered the curse word to himself but a nearby flight attendant took offense and had him removed from the plane while on a layover in Detroit. Passengers around him were supposedly not offended, but the sky bitch/bastard flight attendant was. Continue reading

An ex-boyfriend of a woman who is accused of aborting their baby is putting up quite a fuss, and doing it quite publicly.
Greg Futz of Alamogordo, NM put up a billboard of him holding an outline of an infant in response to his belief that his ex-girlfriend aborted his child she was carrying. Talk about a bitter ex! Continue reading
