This Week In Gun Violence

Over 1400 Americans have died from gun violence since the massacre at Newtown in December.  The President, Vice President and the Congress are currently considering legislation to stem gun violence.  Former Congresswoman, Gabby Giffords, will testify in Congress today about her very personal experience with gun violence.  Meanwhile, the GOP and NRA are digging in their heels, and gun sales have sky rocketed around the nation. January is usually a slow month for video game releases, due to the glut that people usually purchase around the holidays. Come February and March, however, the release pace picks up significantly, and 2013 is no exception.

Is This New Volkswagen Super Bowl Ad Using “Blackface With Voices?”

New York Times columnist Charles Blow thinks so. On a segment with CNN this is what he said regarding Volkswagen’s new ad set to air this weekend. CNN however in the title of their segment doesn’t go quite that far. They ask if the commercial is funny or awkward, opting to shy away from other commentary that asks if the commercial is blatantly racist. Continue reading
