In a Thursday night game against the LA Kings, San Jose Sharks player Ryane Clowe was sitting on the bench when he reached over the wall with his stick and tapped the puck. The illegal move was not caught by officials at the time and after reviewing the play the NHL has decided not to fine Clowe. The reasoning is that if it had been caught during the game it would only have been a minor infraction. Watch the action after the break. Continue reading

Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lightning starts tonight at 8ET. For some reason, I’ve been given clearance to liveblog the game. As I often say when making terrible calls in Euchre: “Let’s see how this goes.”

In rather morbid sports news of the day, Twitter was a-twitter late last night with the news that New York Rangers hockey forward Derek Boogaard, 28, was found dead in his apartment yesterday. No cause of death or reason has been provided at this time.
