Mammals have been around for over 200 million years; they’ve expanded into a diverse array of species, they’ve evolved to live in many different habitats, from burrowing underground to hanging out high up in the tree tops.  And as David Attenborough well tell you, there are some pretty crazy mammals out there, some even lay eggs! However, no mammal is perhaps as insane and crazy as the Human. There’s tons of insanity today in the headlines, really you should look, it’s crazy the things we get up to. Continue reading

Warm Oceans Causing Largest Migration of Marine Life in Two Million Years

We live in crazy times, we do. Sure, every generation thinks that their era represents some unprecedented moment in history, but our current state of affairs seems to be especially whacky. And when the oceans start going haywire, we land-dwelling creatures should probably sit up and take notice. Recently, marine biologists from 17 marine institutes in 10 European countries have synthesized the results of almost 300 EU-funded climate change-related research projects from the past 13 years. Their findings? Weird things are happening in our oceans. Continue reading

Members of Libyan National Soccer Team Join Rebels

Bloody civil wars in the 21st Century have taken on a distinctly ludicrous quality in many ways. Consider this story of the National soccer team of Libyan throwing its support behind the rebel factions engaged in war with Col. Moammar Gadhafi and forces loyal to him. Well it’s not the entire team I don’t think but 17 high profile figures in Libyan soccer have reportedly defected to the rebel side, including the national team’s goalkeeper Juma Ghat and the coach of Tripoli’s top club al-Ahly, Adel bin Issa.

Man Robs Bank in Order to Get Healthcare

Two Thursdays ago James Richard Verone of Gaston County, NC woke up with sole intention of robbing a bank. Is Verone just another nefarious malcontent thumbing his nose at the hardworking men and women of America as he tries to cheat his way to wealth? No, rather he is something of a poster boy for the connection between poverty and crime. He only attempted to rob the bank of $1 and all he actualy wanted was to be able to see a doctor about his many physical ailments.

Wednesday Morning Headlines

In 1977 Joe Strummer sang that hate and war are the only things we got today and it’s hard not to think that, man, how some things never change. Although, then he goes on to sing about “wops” and “kebab greeks” and  the song seems to be about “wars” between different ethnic groups in England and it sounds as though Joe doesn’t like foreigners at all. He could have been saying that stuff as parody, though, who knows. Have a listen for yourself as you read today’s headlines which happen to have a lot of war in them. Continue reading

Guten Morgen, everyone. It’s Monday so that means that news has officially started happening again and everyone at work will think you’re a real lush if you’re still talking about that awesome batch of sangria you made on Saturday. Not to worry, though, we’re here to help out with a quick shot of newsy goodness to get you on your way.

Porn Mogul Larry Flynt Offers Weiner a Job

Larry Flynt is a man not unfamiliar with the experience of an overly puritan society getting all pissy with you because you wanted to take some sexy photos and show them to the public. It’s perhaps not surprising, then, that Flynt offered Anthony Weiner a job with the internet group of his Flynt Management Group, LLC just hours after the now former Congressman resigned yesterday over revelations that he too has a fondness of taking photographs of a “romantic” nature.  Continue reading
