QOTD: Tasting 2011

Hi kids! Know where I am today? If you said “sitting at your desk at home like you are every other day,” you are incorrect! I am currently on vacation, and on tap for today is a visit to what’s supposed to be one of the best restaurants* in the country. Chick-fil-A Fighting Vermont Tee-shirt Artist Over Use of “Kale”

Even though we are heading into the holiday season, let’s not get overwhelmed by good will. Some people deserve to be on Santa’s “naughty” list. In this case it’s Chick fil-A who’s going after Bo Muller-Moore, a Montpelier, VT tee-shirt maker for his website selling tee-shirts and bumper stickers with the slogan “Eat More Kale.” Chick fil-A insists Muller-Moore’s website eatmorekale.com conflicts with their website and slogan, eatmorchikin.com. How To Impress Your Family With Pie

Last fall, I was unemployed. I spent entire days in my (parents’) house, watching Criminal Minds marathons on A&E while eating popcorn and feeling fairly hopeless about my life. When I started having dreams in which Matthew Gray Gubler was saving my life by being a really adorable genius, I figured I needed another hobby, or at least something to occupy my brain before I required a serious Criminal Minds intervention. This is when I started baking.

Apparently Mario Batali not only has a poor sense of fashion, but he might not be the brightest business person either. With tasting menus around $140, Batali has an extremely narrow customer base. The average person will not fork over that kind of dough for a night on the town.
