Chick-fil-A Fighting Vermont Tee-shirt Artist Over Use of “Kale”

Even though we are heading into the holiday season, let’s not get overwhelmed by good will. Some people deserve to be on Santa’s “naughty” list. In this case it’s Chick fil-A who’s going after Bo Muller-Moore, a Montpelier, VT tee-shirt maker for his website selling tee-shirts and bumper stickers with the slogan “Eat More Kale.” Chick fil-A insists Muller-Moore’s website eatmorekale.com conflicts with their website and slogan, eatmorchikin.com.

Seven Days reported that the behemoth fast food company sent Bo Muller-Moore a cease-and-desist order demanding not only that he take down his website – but that he needed to send the fast food company all of his inventory too. “This is legitimate David-versus-Goliath corporate bullying,” said Muller-Moore. “I’m not a restaurant. I’m not a kale farmer. I’m a T-shirt artist.”

Apparently Chick fil-A is worried that their customers might be confused – and eat more kale as opposed to eating more “chikin.”

As of November 30th, the petition in support of Eat More Kale has reached over 12,000 signatures.
