Photo Phriday: Bae Caught Me Slippin

Several weeks ago, a young woman posted a picture of herself — appearing to be asleep — with this caption: “Lol bae caught me slippin. Love him. Good night from us.” Somehow, the young lady didn’t realize that the mirror behind her clearly showed her taking her own picture. There was no bae, no us. Just one woman, (unsuccessfully) creating the illusion of an endearing moment with a significant other. Her loneliness sent waves of laughter across the internet. Continue reading

Microsoft Nails It With a Nostalgic Trip Down Memory Lane

Microsoft posted a new advertisement promoting Internet Explorer, and for any twenty-something growing up in the nineties, it’s an almost-sniffle-inducing trip down memory lane. Slap bracelets, ying yangs, pogs (what WERE those?), Hungry Hungry Hippos, Air Jordans, light up sneakers, Tamogotchis (why did you run away, little friend, every time?) and my personal favorite – the bowl hair cut. My brother rocked a bowl hair cut from about 5th to 10th grade. I’ll never forget the day when he changed to the “new” stylish haircut of the boy band inspired spikey gel look of the 2000’s. Welcome to the pumpin’ iron edition of our song journey. Don’t worry, I am NOT posting “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Here are a few steely-sounding songs that are a little – ok, a lot – harder-edged for the weights crowd. As always, please post your own suggestions, especially if you like metal. This entire post WAS an excuse to post the Skinny Puppy video which, after you get past the chainsaw-like assault, is quite a very lovely pop dance song and I FLOVE it at the gym (but usually for the elliptical).
