Monday Night Open Thread

Hi gang. Looks like we are getting off to a good start this week.

Since today is the anniversary of the assassination of Dr. King I thought I would post this. It is rare that anyone watches it all the way through, but in our own troubled times it is a nice reminder that the human spirit does sometime triumph over adversity. In a world of so much injustice and suffering it it important to remind ourselves that although progress is often slow, sometimes things really do get better.

Monday Daytime Open Thread

Welcome to Crasstalk. Hope you are ready for an exciting week around here. Thanks to everyone who participated in the workshop last night. Please feel free to look through the thread for ideas or to add more of your own; I will check it throughout the day.

This weekend Crasstalkers competed in another battle to find the worst music the internet has to offer. Here are the winners of Country Music Wars:

There was a tie for runner up. The first contender was this wonderful selection from Daisy_Sage.

P_mouse tied her effort with this “classic.”

While both of these efforts were formidable, the championship went to Momof3wildkids for this winning(?) selection.

Saturday Night Movie Open Thread

Well good evening gang. Hope you have had a wonderful day. A quick reminder that there will be a writer’s workshop around 5 PM EST tomorrow night. Hopefully we can come up with some great stuff for the next month.

Tonight’s movie is 1965’s Bloody Pit of Horror. It involves a creepy castle, models, and a mysterious figure known as The Crimson Executioner. It’s badness is simply elegant. Hope you enjoy it.

Thursday Night Open Thread

Good evening Crasstalk. Hope you had a good day. We have couple of quick announcements this evening, please look them over.

  • We really need some more posts for tomorrow and the upcoming weekend.  If you have been thinking about putting something together now is the time. A lot of people who asked for author accounts haven’t actually written a post yet. If you need help please just let me know and I can help you get started.
  • On a related note, there will be another Writer’s Workshop this Sunday to help people come up with and develop post ideas.
  • Please share the articles you like on social networkign sites. We have had some really neat articles around here lately so please give the writers some love by showing off their work.
