Is There a DIY Thing Out There Worth Making?

So, you find yourself surrounded by mason jars, corks, and I dunno, pipe cleaners and coat hangers, and you’ve decided to embark on a DIY project. If you’re like me, this will probably not happen, because 1) Where do you get all this stuff? 2) How does one ever really decide to make a reindeer lawn ornament out of mason jars, corks, pipe cleaners and coat hangers? Arts and Crafts Corner: Artist Trading Cards

A few years ago, I heard of something called “Artist Trading Cards.” These are little cards that are 2 ½ X 3 ½ inches (63 mm X 89 mm for the Canadians) that are decorated with some kind of “Art.” I’m not an artist, but I do love coloring and painting for fun, and these tiny cards were the perfect small canvas on which to work. The purpose of artist trading cards is right there in the name–you’re supposed to trade your tiny works of art. Continue reading

Give the Gift of Paper this Holiday Season

While paper gifts have been unfairly relegated to first year wedding anniversaries (and truth be told, how many of us will ever be married for that long?!), paper products deserve to be viewed as ideal gifts for any ideal situation.  Let’s consider a few for the holiday season.
