Are you looking forward to seeing some VP action as much as I am? Continue reading

Okay kids. It’s almost time. Honestly, I have no idea what’s happening, by which I mean… is tonight the finale?? I thought it was, but on mylifetime.com (I always cringe a little at their stupid website’s name), it says one episode left. I think tonight is just home visits from Tim and tears. Lots of tears. Anyway, get a drink and meet me after the jump.
I’m not usually one to jump on a restaurant bandwagon, but when one of my regular baristas told me that her boyfriend took her to West Loop Chicago restaurant Girl and the Goat for her birthday and gave it a rave review, I decided that I needed to try it for myself. I made my reservations for this past Sunday in July. I could have made a reservation sooner, but that would have meant eating dinner at 10:30 on a Tuesday. Our reservations were for 8:00, but once we got there we had to wait a few minutes for the party at our table to finish. I was a little annoyed, but I after my meal understand why they took their time. Girl and the Goat is shared plates, served family style. I think I preferred it this way. Too many times you go to a good restaurant and end up wanting to taste everyone else’s food anyway. Continue reading
This is my niece, Rosie. She is a St. Bernard. She is wearing a monkey costume.
You see, there is a Halloween costume contest at her day care. Yes, doggy day care. And my sister wants to win this year. I said it seems kind of silly to put all this time and effort into dressing up dogs. You don’t understand, she said. This is doggy day care. This is cutthroat.
Last year, Rosie was a ladybug. And she didn’t win. My sister says one lady cheated last year by promoting her ‘fucking cocker spaniel’ on her personal Facebook page and directing people to the website of the doggy day car to vote for her ‘ugly fucking cocker spaniel’. My sister considers this cheating, because her St. Bernards are way cuter than ‘that fucking piece of shit spoiled cocker spaniel.’ Continue reading
Last Friday I spent the day “working from home” because I was anxiously awaiting my new iPhone 4S. It arrived around 1:30 PM Central and activated after about five angry hours. iOS 5 has some nifty new features, many of which where previously available if you got them by jail-breaking your iPhone. The hows and whys of which are a little outside of the scope of this post. Here’s a keen video about why you’d want to jail-break your iPhone, in case you live under a rock or haven’t been paying attention. Continue reading
I’m filling in for The Grand Inquisitor as she is not done fanning herself over Bots’ brother, Trash_Melon, in his I’m Muslim, Ask Me Anything. So, this morning, I’m taking a different look at the news. I’m reading the conservative new sources so you don’t have to. Fair and balanced. I report, you decide.
From our friends at Foxnews.com, we have these newsworthy items:
- OWS is now as racist as the Tea Party. But it is over Jewish bankers, so maybe that is ok?
- Soul Pizza’s Economist who helped him create 9-9-9 is waffling.
- Misery Index is at a 28-year high, thanks to inflation. See, I told you it was coming. Not to worry though, the Misery Index under Carter was much higher.
- Rahm Emmanuel is acting like a nice conservative. Take that teacher’s unions!
Sorry about that, even The Grand Inquisitor gets tired sometimes. Continue reading
