Dominique Strauss-Kahn Pleads Not Guilty

The former head of the International Monetary Fund appeared in court in Manhattan today, and pleaded not guilty to charges of sexually assaulting a maid at the Sofitel hotel.

Prosecutors say Strauss-Kahn forced the 32-year-old woman to perform oral sex on him.

Kahn wore a dark suit and tie. His wife, also dressed in a dark suit, held his arm. There were protesters outside the court, yelling ‘Shame on you’. Kahn spoke publically for the first time since the scandal broke, saying in court: ‘Not Guilty’.

Selling Yourself in a Tight Job Market

Yahoo’s Daily Ticker’s Aaron Task interviewed Harvard lecturer and PhD Paul Stoltz and co-author James Reed to find out that employers are most interested in candidates who have a certain mindset — regardless of skill set.

The authors of this study “define and quantify” what mindset means to employers. They call their findings the “3G Mindset”. It consists of the top three qualities that employers consider most important: global, good and grit. Continue reading

How I Dropped out of High School and into a Cult

I never did this

I’ve given up trying to explain what it is I do when asked at a family reunion or some other social engagement. I’ve seen too many eyes glaze over and I won’t responsible for another person slipping into a coma while I try to explain Jboss, Tomcat and Apache. Most people are surprised to learn that I didn’t attend a four year university, nor in fact did I ever graduate High School. Many are even further shocked to learn I actually went to Bible College.
