It’s the Britta of Timelines Community Season 4 Episode 2 Live Blog

Gillian_Jacobs_at_PaleyFestYou didn’t think every Community episode was going to be really good, did you?  Oct 19th was like finding out you got socks instead of toys for Xmas or going to bed with Annie and waking up with Pierce.  It wasn’t what Community fans wanted, hoped or dare I say, expected.  After rewatching the episode, I noticed that it could have been a good one, but there was something seriously off.  Maybe it was first day jitters?  Maybe it was that the new show runners have a different idea?  Or it was the worst The Big Bang Theory parody ever?  Yet, here we are ready for Round Two of the Post Dan Harmon era.

In last week’s episode, Abed goes to his happy place (hopefully for the last time) when he realizes that it’s our favorite Greendale Community College Study Group’s senior year while Jeff is stuck playing Katnis in a weak parody of the Hunger Games.  The only thing I really liked about the episode was debut of TroBrit.

Not a shock as the show angled to get Troy and Britta together in season 3 and it only seemed right that the two hooked up.  I also realize that TroBrit will not replace Trobed as the most stable relationship in the Study Group (nothing will.)  Here’s hoping that TroBrit and the tension between TroBrit and Trobed will be handled with the smart comedic approach Community fans expect and not the worn out tropes we can find elsewhere.  There is even plenty of comedic fodder if TroBrit goes pear shaped.  I doubt that the study group will enjoy Britta telling them about Troy’s love of Buttstuff and removing any lingering memories of Jeff Winger’s Nipple Play.

Onto to the episode!
