Diamond Planet Discovered

A planet made entirely of diamond, prosaically known as PSR J1719-1438, has been discovered by an international team of astronomers led by Professor Matthew Bailes at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, and including researchers from Australia, Germany, Italy, the UK and the USA. The discovery was initially made using the Parkes radio telescope in New South Wales, Australia; a radio telescope which will be well known to those who’ve seen the movie The Dish as a vital part of the network that received signals from the Apollo 11 mission, covering most of the moonwalk. Calling All Angles

What’s that? You say you’re calling from 2011 and phonecalls in LA now cost two bits? Dude, that like totally bites! It’s bushwa!

Well, as it’s on your nickel(s) I’ll make it quick. They say Los Angeles is the city of Angels but in my experience, it’s the City where everyone has an Angle, so I’ll get straight to the point. My moll and I here have all the latest celebrity gossip, and we just can’t keep it to ourselves, so consider this your lucky day. Yeah, yeah, don’t cast a kitten, we’ll give you the goods, the genuine goods, none of that phonus bolonus. I know you’re hip to the jive, so pipe down, grab yourself a joram of skee, and listen up, old pal.

By the way, do you have any idea who any of these fellas is? Some Limey just gave me this list and told me to read it to you. Some kinda doctor or something, said he was, but he looked like a fly boy to me.

Kim Kardashian Will Sue You if Your Models Look Like Her

America’s second favorite sex tape star, Kim Kardashian, is suing Gap Inc, because its Old Navy brand aired commercials this spring that featured a model named Mellisa Molinaro. Molinaro is apparently somewhat known for ‘looking like Kim Kardashian’, among other exploits, such as appearing on MTV’s Making the Band 3, because that’s actually a thing.

Per the suit, Kardashian ‘”has invested substantial time, energy, finances and entrepreneurial effort in developing her considerable professional and commercial achievements and success, as well as in developing her popularity, fame, and prominence in the public eye”. I’ll leave the to commenters go ahead and have their fun with that statement.

Further, Ms. Kardashian is concerned that people might confuse her and Ms. Molinaro, and assume that Old Navy has Kim’s endorsement. Which, of course, they don’t, because a) they didn’t pay for it and b) Ohmygaw, have you seen Old Navy’s clothes? Kardashians don’t wear $5 polos, kids. She is so better than that.

Kim doesn’t want it to be illegal to look like her, she just wants to keep anyone who does from earning money publicly. Just kidding! Kim probably sees the potential for a few bucks, and hey, it beats ‘working’.
