Several years ago, we heard a recipe for tomato pie on the radio as the Mister and I were driving into the Blue Ridge Mountains to go camping. As soon as we got home, we started looking up recipes and testing them out. This is a savory pie that is a fantastic side for any summer meal. I like it hot, Mister likes it cold. It’s amazing either way. Continue reading
Police logs in small town newspapers are usually pretty amusing, but by far the best I’ve encountered is in The East Hampton Star. The Star is an old, family-run newspaper that’s got a mix of stories covering small town Hamptons life, such as it is, as well as more worldly concerns. Whenever I’ve been able to spend time in the area, the first thing I do is pick up a copy of the Star, make a giant pitcher of gin & Frescas, and dive into the local police logs. Continue reading

Don’t call it a chick flick. This classic film has stood the test of time crossing ages and cultures to be remade not once… not twice… but three times most famously as An Affair to Remember starring Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant. Let’s hope it bypasses the current run of Hollywood remakes because if I have to even think about Kristen Stewart and Zac Efron as the leads I might have an embolism. Continue reading
While I think it has taken time for many of us to swallow all the information offered in yesterday’s OT re: deep exploration of certain activities “down there,” tonight seems like the perfect time to push harder and thrust ourselves into a pictorial climax of sexual innuendo.
Your assignment is simple: go get Freudian and find the phallic and the yonic (yes, yonic, thank god for Google) in your home, office, yard or town and post the pictures here. If you’re too inhibited to expose your own personal euphemisms, feel free to scour the internets: there’s a world of wood and fur and pointy things out there just waiting for you to dive into (or onto, depending on your persuasion).
And when you’re done, don’t forget to wash your dirty little hands. Continue reading

If it’s several comments long, it’s okay to just send me the first comment or two, but always remember to tell me what post or OT the comments come from. Without further delay, let’s get to the roundup of the week’s posts and your Comment of the Week! Continue reading
Berf. Like seriously, what are people thinking? Yes, we know Pinterest is the bestest most spectacular website for finding anything from teeny, tiny bedazzled baby shoes, mason jar centerpieces, to, I dunno! Button bracelets or two Chihuahuas sitting in a small pink roadster! Don’t ask. But did you know some of the most disgusto recipes we’ve come across in a long time happen to live there? And by live there, we mean slowly mutating, replicating and plotting to destroy the world with its noxious ingredients and frankly, mockery of all things edible? Like the Crescent Taco Bake shown above. No, we’re not kidding. Follow after the jump if you dare. Continue reading
Considering that more than half of all Americans are using social media in some form, though many of them badly (I’m looking at you, Rep. Dan Gordon) there’s clearly a temptation to say that companies should be doing all they can to reach out to customers using the various channels. At least, that’s the position of tech wonder-boy Josh James in his guest post on Forbes.com this week. Continue reading
