Not gonna lie: I really enjoyed writing today’s title. Continue reading

There were definite limits to our relationship. She never wanted me to ask detailed questions about her family. She hated ordering food over the phone and taking her car in for maintenance — so if those things needed to be done, I had to do them. And she didn’t mind if I found other women attractive, but she always wanted to be the one to raise the topic first. Continue reading

Great music never goes out of style. Sure, starships are meant to fly and all that, but complex musical arrangements, well-written lyrics, and a classic voice over top – that’s the good stuff. Continue reading

Oh, for the luxury of living in Manhattan — what would you do? Perhaps try and move all of your earthly possessions into something that wouldn’t contain a sneeze much less the entire existence of a human being OR perhaps two if you’re truly a crazy person who likes to tempt the claustrophobia gods with your wanton double occupancy ways. Per GI, this article will no longer be referring to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie as either “Sandwiches” or “Governor Sandwiches”, as sandwiches are delicious and nutritious, and Chris Christie is neither of those things. Henceforth, Governor Christie will be referred to as Governor Chris “Hamburgler” Christie, or just “Governor Hamburgler.” Thank you, and welcome to the Daily Sausage. Continue reading
Yesterday this writer was on Twitter when I saw a tweet from Rhode Island state legislator Dan Gordon (R-71) about the US House vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Admittedly, I was cranky, and after a day of reading bad economic news I felt a little fed up with the GOP’s continued bitching about the health care bill when Americans need some real leadership. I shot back a cranky response.
Last night, Robert Blake went on Piers Morgan to promote his new book…I don’t even know what it’s called because Blake drew more attention to his comments on his wife’s murder than anything else (his attire was also an interesting choice, but I digress).
Blake was arrested in 2002 for the murder of his wife Bonnie Lee Bakley—a charge for which he was acquitted of in 2005. While admitting that he didn’t love her and that she was a con-artist, he did not appreciate the line of questioning regarding the night she was killed. Now, someone who has been on trial and acquitted of committing murder would likely be defensive about the suggestion that he was somehow involved in the murder. However, it’s probably best to not show how scary you can actually be while defending your name. It was, in a word, chilling. Videos after the jump. Continue reading
What happens when you come before an organization that is about the advancement of African-Americans, a large percentage of whom voted for the current president, and you disparage him in your speech by using the weird, teabagger-esque colloquialism for the Affordable Health Care Act, and call it “Obamacare?” Yeah, well you get booed. So what’s your response? Diminish the entire group by saying they’re just out looking for a free ride. Continue reading
