Project Runway Season 10 Episode 5 Liveblog

Welcome, Crasstestants, to Episode 5 of our weekly fashion extravaganza. Last week our challenge was for the Woman-On-The-Go. One woman contestant  took it literally and escaped under the cover of night. Not to be outdone, Male Gilly – our hair model – decided he wanted to go his own way as well.

So, what’s up on the docket for this week? Another exciting team challenge! Cue ensuing bedlam. Nina Garcia is going to have her hand in this one so let’s see if anyone incurs her wrath. Continue reading

Project Runway Season 10 Live Blog

Ok Crassholes, here is your Season 10 live blog page. Like throwing this to a pack of lions, we are about to tear into this mother. Heidi, Tim, Ms. Oran-jay and Nina are back and not a moment too soon. Nobody knows what the hell happened with that last “season” but thank god it’s over. A quick check of my local listings says that there is no stupid Project Runway competitor show or stupid runway models squawk box show afterwards either. So we are SAFE (for now…).

We have 10 minutes to showtime so settle in where you like, get yo’ libations, get yo’ remote and have at it! Continue reading

Mexican Elections Are More Dramatic than Mexican Soap Operas

In light of our North American celebration today (Happy Canada Day!), I wanted to bring a little attention to our friends south of the border and the elections happening today. It is widely expected that Enrique Peña Nieto, of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) will win against the number two candidate, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, of the Progressive Movement Coalition and who narrowly lost to Felipe Calderón in a hotly contested election in 2006. Two other candidates, seen trailing, are Josefina Vazquez Mota (National Action Party) and the long shot Gabriel Quadri (New Alliance Party). Continue reading

QOTD: Are you Left-Handed, Right-Handed, or Both?

One of the comments I read the other day (yesterday?) got me thinking about this (Thanks, Delta!). I’d say that I’m left-handed but not exclusively and maybe not for most of the day. I write, eat, draw, and if I played guitar, I would be rockin’ out with the lefties. However, I use scissors, play tennis, and use a computer mouse right-handed. That last one was the first conscious decision I had ever made about which hand to go with.

According to the Daily Infographic, 15% of people are left-handed. They tend to be smarter but more alcoholic. According to my research of myself, I think that holds true. Continue reading

Crasserolia: The Results

Greetings, chickadees! I know you’ve been eagerly waiting for the results of our Crasserole Contest. This time we asked you to be a little luxurious with the ingredients seeing as we’ve been making you be all stingy with el budget. You did not disappoint! We ended up having an ultimate smackdown between The Grand Inquisitor herself and our resident Aussie, BaldwinP. Both formidible opponents who you wouldn’t want to get caught in a culinary dark alley with, so to speak. So without any further ado, on to the results! Continue reading

Recipe Contest: There’s No Place Like Home

Back by special request, we are bringing you our latest contest installment: CASSEROLES. You love them, they’re easy, they usually contain some wonderful form of cheese. What’s not to like? But after awhile, you do end up running out of ideas and it’d be great to get new ones to reinvigorate the ol’ repertoire. We only have a few weeks left of winter so why not celebrate the end with homey goodness? Conversely, what better way to celebrate spring with one made with new vegetables? Continue reading

Random Musings on Brave New Waves, Best Canadian Music Program Ever

There was nothing like BNW for going to sleep by, you’d be lulled nearly to sleep by some lull in a 10 minute long instrumental sound painting only to be woken up violently when the song switched to loud chaotic noise. This happened about once a night or so.  – posted by Space Coyote at 5:40 AM on February 2, 2007
