Holiday Tables Wrap-Up

Easter / Passover season has drawn to a close yet again. No more melting Peeps in the microwave for another year. Sad, right? But we can still ooh and ahh at all of our creativity putting it all together! As we said, the judges aren’t going to do any judging this time around. Rather, we wanted to enjoy the holidays with you all. So let’s get started!

Our first submission was from Mean_Old_Liberal of her adorable party for her adorable son.He looks truly happy and I sure would be too if I had someone throw me an Angry Birds party. I’d want to be throwing cake at someone though.

MOL: Not Easter (which is next Sunday), but the MYL’s birthday party this past Saturday.

GT_Cosita: I am so jealous of this table. The cake, balloons, plates, napkins, plus the stuffed birds and pigs on the table really show your commitment to the theme. I also love what appear to be wall decals in the background. [Summeroflove note: OHHHH I didn’t see those! Those are awesome!]

LaunieK: To quote Ren and Stimpy: “Happy, happy, joy, joy!

Next up, we have Cosmic Debris with a very elegant Easter setting shot last year at her mother’s.

GT_Cosita: The table looks straight out of a catalog. Simple but inviting, as all tables should be.

LaunieK: That table is like something out of one of my daydreams.

Then, we have TurdHurdler with her beautiful family and her handsome boys, Peep and Pooh.

TH: Ok, well this was Thanksgiving, not Easter, but here is our dining room all decorated.

GT_Cosita: What a lovely family. But where are the chickens and the bunny? I would expect them to have seats of high honor at the holiday table.

LaunieK: I’m trying to focus on your holiday table, but I’m transfixed by your magnificent hair.

Here are some happy, colorful pictures from Cacahuate. Ok, except for the kitty. The expression on his face is utterly priceless.

C: So, this was at my BFF’s house, but it was potluck so I can take a wee bit of credit. Ham, scalloped potatoes and leeks, salad with carrots, beets, dill, and goat cheese, and fruit salad. The cranky Easter Bunny [is] Lambie Lou.

GT_Cosita: I like the touch of using the chocolate bunnies as decoration. I will pretend they are edible. The cupcakes look to die for, which is appropriate since that cat is going to kill us all.

LaunieK: Lambie Lou is beyond priceless. And hopefully you remained unscathed from that attempt at playing dress up with a cat. In the spirit of Johnny Dangerously, let me put it this way: “I tried to play dress up with a cat. Once.”

And, finally, we will leave you with the most adorable non-marshmallow peeps ever from TheEmbiggening. These are way better than the boxed ones, although harder to melt. Her bunny-eared dog definitely looks happier and more in the spirit of things than our poor unhappy kitty above. I’m sure somebody got scratched within an inch of their life.

TE: I made little “peeps” fpr everyone a few Easters ago, and I saved several (many) for myself. The week before Easter, the peeps sit together in a basket by the door. Easter week, the peeps make their way throughout the house to perch on various surfaces, lending a spot of bright yellow that is cheerfully noticeable. Easter Day, the peeps are gathered together and posed with the colored eggs. Peep Easter!

GT_Cosita: I really like the tradition of moving the peeps throughout the house, as if they are making a pilgrimage to Easter Island.

LaunieK: I love the Easter Week “Migration of the Peeps.” And what a happy looking pup!

So that’s it, kids! Hope you’ve enjoyed our little dance to spring. Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to submit photos. We really loved them. Now, let’s go outside and play!
