Why is Hollywood trying to kill Pacific Rim?

I originally wrote a draft of this piece about a week ago, before the first round of reviews of Guillermo del Toro’s Monsters Vs. Robots epic, Pacific Rim, hit the internet. I scrapped it because after the very positive reviews hit, I figured that Pacific Rim was back on track for a monster opening weekend.

Instead, I came across another hit piece from Variety pegging Pacific Rim for a lackluster opening, underperforming against Grown-Ups 2.

This Year in Anti-Choice Tomfoolery: The West

We have come to the final chapter of this week’s series on anti-abortion legislation. It’s been relatively quiet on the western front, with only one bill requiring parental consent in Montana and a ruling on Idaho’s 20-week abortion ban.

Craft Your Own CrassTales – The Ballad of Chippy

chippyI used to love Choose Your Own Adventure and Which Way books. The books all started the same. Then you’d be able to pick what the lead character did, and flip the appropriate page in the book, and carry on the story from there.

This is a variation on that. I start the story. Then you take over and finish the story in the comments. This is a great way to capitalize on my insanity and laziness.
