project-runway-all-stars-1 Greetings, fellow Project Runway fans! Well, this season’s been a bit of a letdown, hasn’t it? I mean, the fashions have hardly been awe-inspiring, the judges have been lackluster, and there’s hardly been any drama between the designers! Last week, we bid adieu to Casanova, whose design was a loser amongst a sea of horrid designs in a horrid Unconventional Materials challenge involving the (mis)use of Christmas decorations. To a New Yorker there is nothing as sacred as the perfect “slice.” Even if you just arrived in the city an hour ago, you are practically weaned on the perfect balance of cheese, sauce, and crust. And we don’t need no fancy toppings to make it the best thing in the world. Whether you’re at one of the innumerable Ray’s Pizzas, or some joint you came across during a random jaunt, since it’s pizza in NYC, how can it go wrong? Making it too fussy is sacrilege. Simple is always best, so what may be hard to stomach is how the rest of the world sees pizza. Behold Pizza Hut Singapore’s “Pizza In a Pizza” brought to you today by Buzzfeed.

QOTD: Your Terrible Winter Travel Stories

highwaystormThis isn’t a competition, but if it were, the Canadians here would win hands down. Team Canada!!! More snowstorm-driving miles (older members) and kilometres (younger members) per capita than anywhere else in the world, except maybe Siberia.

It’s amusing to tell lurid stories of near-disasters on January roads to Californians who have never seen snow, watch their eyes get round, watch that ‘oh they’re exaggerating’ (we’re not) suspicion enter their eyes. But driving and flying and, indeed, walking down the damned street when it’s cold and icy and snowing sideways are no joke. Continue reading
