Shhh! Can you hear it? That low growling moan off in the distance? Either the neighbor’s cat is in heat (again), or there’s a second wave of zombies headed right for your living room. Yes, zombies. After a long hiatus, the second season of The Walking Dead premieres tonight at 9 p.m. on AMC. And, since zombiism is a real threat facing modern society, I suggest you watch and learn.
Earlier this month, myself and Spirit_Fingers entered Thunderdome for a zombie walk-off which would determine who had the honor of recapping the new season. After an arduous battle involving dozens of comments that looked something like this:
We got bored and forgot about it for a couple of weeks. And then we called a truce. So the indomitable Spirit_Fingers will be recapping all odd episodes, and I’ll be doing the evens.
Now where were we with Season 1? When we left the ragtag group of survivors, they were hitting the road for an unknown destination (sans Jacqui, who stayed behind) after the CDC got all blown up thanks to The Last Crazy Scientist In The World, Dr. Jenner (also blown up). Without the CDC, the survivors will have little hope of finding a cure for zombiism, and even fewer supplies. On the bright side, their despair should make for a very interesting Season 2.
