Breaking News: Rounders 2, The Real Life Movie!

Well, well, well, guess who just wrote their own sequel? Tobey Maguire (superhero), Leo DiCaprio (forever having wet cat face), Ben Affleck (of course), and Matt Damon (I’m Matt Damon) have all been named in an illegal gambling ring.

Seriously, dudes? You guys were really involved in underground gambling just like the movie? Exactly like the movie? That’s just awesome! No, not really. It sounds kind of bad, but also kind of funny. Where was Ed Norton? Or Nick Cage? You mean to tell us that there was a Hollywood rat pack of poker faces going on and there was no sighting of tarantula-haired Nick Cage? This is pretty unbelievable.

According to Radar Online, the group reportedly used secret passwords and unmarked rooms to keep their extra-curricular activities on the down low — playing behind closed doors manned with armed guards in bullet proof vests. Oh, that’s just fantabulous. It’s the scene from Ocean’s Eleven. Was Joshua Jackson there with his skull ring? And Brad Pitt, was he dressed like a Saturday Night Fever refugee? This is serious business.

The FBI is currently investigating, guys. Yes, so that means you probably won’t be able to slide the detective an autographed copy of the Bourne Identity for his wife. That probably won’t help this situation.

Radar reports that members would often meet for games at the Beverly Hills hotel or the Viper Room (RIP River Phoenix) on Sunset Boulevard — details learned after the FBI investigation into CEO of Ruderman Capital Partners, Brad Ruderman, whose loss of $25 million of investor cash led officials to the A-list gamblers. Ruderman is currently serving time in a Texas jail until 2018, which is important because Tobey Maguire snagged $300,000 from the former CEO who is also connected to a Ponzi scheme created to pay off his debts after taking money from his investors. Uh, oh, Spidey, looks like your Spidey Sense is on the fritz. Obviously, you didn’t see that coming. Ruderman’s clients are now going after those who won what was supposed to be their investment capital in a civil suit. Pay up Peter Parker!

Although DiCaprio, Affleck and Damon were involved in the poker ring, they are not yet the target of the suit. Losers, but still winners, we suppose.

A fellow player says of the actors:

“Matt never won” and “Leo is a tight ass. When he lost $50,000 the look in his eyes was obvious, he was crazy.”

Well, that’s just sensational. Leo DiCaprio is actually a bit of a loose cannon, despite what his bland acting will tell you. Who knew?

Luckily for the other losers guys, Maguire is the only one involved in the civil suits and it’s reported that Maguire may have won as much as $1 million a month over a period of three years, another source says. “That means he could have made up to $30 to $40 million from these games,” he added — but it is still illegal to gamble for money at unspecified gambling establishments in California – although the law is generally not strictly enforced.

None of the gentlemen are under a criminal investigation at this time. But, you never know, the world is a funny place and someone may call for their heads in coming days, and then they’ll probably wish there was a movie project on the horizon they were “studying” for. Quick, somebody plan a reboot of The Sting starring these jokers!
