Robert Blake Goes Nuts on National Television

Last night, Robert Blake went on Piers Morgan to promote his new book…I don’t even know what it’s called because Blake drew more attention to his comments on his wife’s murder than anything else (his attire was also an interesting choice, but I digress).

Blake was arrested in 2002 for the murder of his wife Bonnie Lee Bakley—a charge for which he was acquitted of in 2005. While admitting that he didn’t love her and that she was a con-artist, he did not appreciate the line of questioning regarding the night she was killed. Now, someone who has been on trial and acquitted of committing murder would likely be defensive about the suggestion that he was somehow involved in the murder. However, it’s probably best to not show how scary you can actually be while defending your name. It was, in a word, chilling. Videos after the jump.

So, uh, okay. Yes, becoming an actor for a huge studio is significant, but being accused of and tried for the murder of your wife may also be significant, yes? He goes on to “explain” why he doesn’t want to talk about this.

So now he provides some insight into who Bakley was. One is not to speak ill of the dead so let’s just say that it seems like it was a lovely relationship.

Blake has lived an interesting life, to be sure. Let’s not also forget that Piers Morgan is a giant journalistic hack. But these videos show why maybe it’s best for Blake to not give interviews after so many years of silence.
