BREAKING: Mitt Romney Tells Us How He Really Feels About the Poors

In footage released today by Mother Jones we find out what Mitt Romney really thinks about 47% of those voting for President Obama — they’re all a bunch of hapless victims dependent on the government. No need for him to care about those folks. They’re really a waste of his time.

He says:

“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.”

He also adds in the video:

“[M]y job is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”

Fantabulous, Mitt. Really, you’re doing a great job at sidestepping class warfare here with some of these statements. To what demographic are you directing your comments? Could it be minorities and the same group you insulted when you discussed your failed visit to the NAACP at a fundraiser the next day? Romney going full tilt here goes beyond comments that the Obama administration’s state-by-state welfare waivers were an effort to “shore up his base.” It sounds like outright disdain for anyone not born with a silver spoon in their mouth.

Oh, yeah. He talks about that too.

“I have inherited nothing.” He remarked, “There is a perception, ‘Oh, we were born with a silver spoon, he never had to earn anything and so forth.’ Frankly, I was born with a silver spoon, which is the greatest gift you can have: which is to get born in America.”

Just a short time ago, Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said, “It’s shocking that a candidate for President of the United States would go behind closed doors and declare to a group of wealthy donors that half the American people view themselves as ‘victims,’ entitled to handouts, and are unwilling to take ‘personal responsibility’ for their lives. It’s hard to serve as president for all Americans when you’ve disdainfully written off half the nation.”

If you want to hear more commentary from old empathetic RMoney, “ye of offshore bank accounts so who is he to talk about paying taxes in this country,” yeah, go to Mother Jones where you can listen to all his fantastic thoughts on not being born a Latino, unions, immigrants (Hiya Daddy Romney!), not letting Ann out to speak too much, and not giving one red cent to his grandchildren because he is Mommy Dearest. “Not One Penny!”
