So This Thing Happened: The “Santorum Girls” Go Viral

Something called the Harris Family Band, or better known by their stage name, First Love, which seems to be a modern day conservative Partridge Family — sans bell-bottoms and cool mom — has created an ode to Rick Santorum.

In the two minute video, Camille, 20, and Haley Harris, 18, the Taylor Swiftian duo now called “The Santorum Girls” (Yikes) sing their little hearts out about their new found political hero.

“Game On” as it’s called, extols the virtues of the Santorum message complete with a refrain that echoes his stance on social issues and the economy, “We’ve finally got a man/ who will stand for wrong and right” and “There will be justice for the unborn/ factories back on our shores” they twang. The video has 73,000 views and is still going strong due to the news media’s discovery of this wunderkind family who now has a tour bus!

The best part of it all for the Harris’, one might assume, is that Rick Santorum himself, yes, the Rick Santorum may contact them to appear live to sing for his very own self at official Rick Santorum rallies! So exciting for you people from Oklahoma! But like most overnight superstars, there are critics out there. Beware, Camile and Haley, as Yahoo News reports, the YouTube comments section can be brutal. Of their own admission, they don’t quite know what’s not to like about justice for the unborn, and how people and not the government are supposed to rule the land.

Oh, well. You guys just keep on playing, even the little one with the ukulele. That little ham. You’re nothing like 2008’s Obama Girl. Umm-hmmm, I bet you guys have some sharply raised eyebrows for that young lady, eh?

I personally found this verse especially precious: “GAME ON! Change is at hand – Faithful to his Wife and Seven Kids – He’ll be Loyal to our land.” Ah, that’s the ticket right there.
