Sure they Republican presidential hopefuls are mostly a bunch of oldies now, but they used to be young. Let’s jump in the time machine and see what they looked like when they were more youthful.
First up is Ron Paul. You know him as a gentleman of advanced years. But back in the time of plaid pants and long sideburns he was a real fashionista. As a Republican the only way to be photographed with any dignity is shaking hands with The Gipper.
Unfortunately for Rick Santorum he has no pictures with the Big Man RR. It’s not something he likes to talk about. It would be far too easy to just post the high school yearbook photo where he looks like McLovin. Instead let us look at his Penn State yearbook picture, complete with beard and the lapel fashion of the day.
Here we see Newton’s 1961 yearbook photo. He managed to put his acting and debate skills together to form a master debater. His head seems to have really filled out nicely in his later years.
The privileged upbringing of Willard “Mitt” Romney is well documented. But this touching picture shows that he and Ann are so gosh-darn adorable that it would be impossible not to like them. Additionally, Mitt has a very down to earth hint of a unibrow. If he brought back the unibrow in a more prominent role it would cement his support from the ungroomed.
