Coming Attractions: Will Smith Dyes His Hair and Lesser Mysteries About Men In Black III

Yeah, so, we’re back with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as they attempt to maintain, or control, or slapstick carouse with the world’s population of aliens and, I guess, animated graffiti drawings? Makes total sense.

Did anyone ask for another one of these movies? No, but since it’s here, it would like you to remember everything you hated about the last two of these things. The awful and obvious jokes, the almost childish shenanigans as one or both key players falls off a building, or gets punched by an octopus, or takes out their little brain lobotomizer and makes a joke about “not remembering a thing!” Oh, ho.

Okay, so sure, we expected this. Anything new, guys? Anything at all? Oh, well, somehow Tommy Lee Jones’ character has been dead for forty years, inexplicably! Conveniently! Stupidly! So now Smith must go back to the 1960s (Mad Men! Because It’s Popular and People Watch Television!) and find him or, kill him, or punch him in the nards. Whatever. Enter Josh Brolin as the befuddled Special Agent ‘K’ breakfast cereal, who’s also the young version of Tommy Lee Jones’ irascible eyebrows. Add Emma Thompson in the mix and you have about 50% too many talented people in a movie about hair dye and alien cartoon doohickeys. Wow, Will. We had no idea about the hair.

Enjoy! Coming your way, Summer 2012.
