Thanksgiving Recipe Contest Results

Thanksgiving has past but we are still thankful to all of you who participated in our Thanksgiving Recipe Contest, especially since it was a little earlier than the actual day. You all did an amazing job!  There was a lot of squeeing behind the scenes seeing what you all created!

SooOOo, let’s get down to business. As previously done, we looked at each of your dishes for taste appeal, creativity, freshness and cooking techniques. During our scoring, the judges made a note of the final budget, gave each contestant a score from 1-10 in each category, and added any extra credit points. We tallied them up, creating our winner! And the winner is……

WE HAVE A TIE! WE HAVE TWO WINNERS! First place goes to both GrandInquisitor and MissLinda at 112 points each! Congratulations guys!

GrandInquisitor – 112 points
GTCosita: Who would think to include seafood as part of Thanksgiving fare? This simple recipe is sure to be a surprising hit and a welcome twist from your standard stuffy stuffing.
LaunieK: Your recipe made me a little misty. My late grandmother made oyster stuffing that everyone swooned over, on Thanksgiving. And she would have loved the addition of bacon. On the “drunken tear” scale I rate this a ten.

GT Cosita: I refuse to even try the canned cranberry stuff, but I can see myself going back for seconds with this one. Love the vibrant color of the dish as well.
LaunieK: Not only was this a gorgeous recipe, it was unique too. I’ve never seen apple in a cranberry relish before. Brava, Miss Linda.

GTCosita: WOW. I am immediately filled with an urge to make this right now. I like that this recipe fills the need for a pumpkin dish but making a cheesecake takes the whole Thanksgiving meal to a next level.
LaunieK:
I’m impressed. Not only did you make your own whipped cream, you made it boozy. Excellent recipe, I sent it to my mother.

GTCosita: Sometimes I wonder how something so simple can come out so yummy. This recipe is a great staple for Thanksgiving, but can be easily modified by changing up the veggies or adding different spices.
LaunieK: Roasted vegetables are the “little black dress” of holiday dinners. And you flashed us some leg. We liked it.

GTCosita: Talk about a labor of love! Very time intensive and easy to mess up, but it looks as if the effort is worth it. My mouth started watering when I saw that second picture, and I hope we meet someday and you bring this to a Crasstalk potluck.
LaunieK: This was an amazing, declaration of love for your family, friends and the universe in general. Amazing.

NotSoDeepSouth – 101 points
GTCosita: A quick and easy recipe, perfect for when you have to bring an appetizer with you to a party.
LaunieK: Are you mauled when you walk into a party with these? Serious question.
