We’ve all heard about people having mind blowing sex, but did you know that it can actually temporarily erase your memory?
It’s true! It happened to a woman in her early 50s who, after having sex, lost all of her new memories from the prior 24 hours and was unable to form new memories. She rushed to the emergency room, as one should do in such a case, and they found no abnormal brain function. She left the emergency room fully recovered.
She had experienced what is known as transient global amnesia. Wikipedia defines it as a temporary but almost total disruption of short-term memory with a range of problems accessing older memories. It is a rare phenomenon, occurring in “3 to 5 per 100,000 each year.” Currently researchers still do not know what causes it, although the article has a few theories having to do with the restriction of blood flow (heh!) creating oxygen-poor blood. People, please remember to breathe when undertaking any sort of strenuous physical activity!
Really, what I want to know is, do they have a son and is he single.
