Super Squats Club

Hey Crassers!

Welcome to week two of the Super Squats Club!

Since I left you on Friday, I got my first long run of this training program in. It was a 5 miler. Having trained in Chicago for a few races, I have my standard training paths I use, but I was in San Antonio last weekend for a wedding, so there was a bit of variation. Oh, and hills. San Antonio has hills and Chicago does not.

During my last couple long races I have used the run 5 minutes, walk 1 minute strategy. It’s annoying in the beginning when trying to find my pace, but I am thankful in the end when I have enough energy to finish the race. It’s not a strategy I use while training, but I did employ during this weekend’s run. Overall, it slowed me down a bit, bit I’m ok with that. If you take into account the hills and that I veered off the path I chose (using mapmyrun.com), I think that I had a pace I can improve upon.

How have you been working toward your goal this last week?
