So, since a whole host of you are about to become weekend shut-ins, the editor team thought maybe ginning up a little game to play might be entertaining. So, we’re pulling out an old favorite.
The premise is simple: Take two separate pop-culture items (two movies, a movie and a TV show, etc. You get it) and combine them, presenting us with a title and a plot. For some inspiration, here’s the last time we did this. This actually started way back on Gawker,but don’t be afraid of repeats, look how often Hollywood remakes the same junk.
To get you started, let me give a couple of examples, just to show how this thing works:
Mad Max: Bio-Thunderdome: Mel Gibson and Pauly Shore form an unlikely duo as Mad Max becomes a part of an ecological project gone wrong, and becomes the only way out for the rest of the subjects.
Rickrollin’ Down the River: Tina Turner is one pissed off diva when the video during her latest farewell concert is hijacked by the inescapable Astley hit.
District 9 1/2 Weeks. A hard-charging Wall Street narcissist spends 9 1/2 cocaine-fueled weeks in a South African slum living out his sadomasochistic sexual fantasies with an extraterrestial arthropod. Some of those fantasies involve diapers.
