xoJane Opposes Cat Fat-Shaming

By now, we’ve seen the pictures of 39-pound Meow the cat everywhere- that lucky bastard’s been on Anderson Cooper’s lap; he lives in Santa Fe; he is all thick an’ shit. We know. We’re basically rewarding this cat for being obese. (And also a rescue and all those other things, LAY OFF ME).

But have you ever considered the opposite: the dangers of fat-shaming your cat? Continue reading →

Ebaying At the Moon: Thanks for the Memorabilia

To think, ’tis only May 1, and America’s favorite space-grifter and her most beloved hater of colleges have packed up and left the deranged playground that was the 2012 GOP presidential primary. Now that the least heinous most likable 1%er of the crop has been chosen, the side show collection of contenders will slowly slide back into the murky depths of K-street lobbying firms and Heritage Foundation-like ‘think-tanks’. The audience cheers, but they don’t actually get on their feet until Latrice Royale is introduced. Jesus is a biscuit.

Happy May Day, You Dirty Commies

Today is International Workers’ Day, where the fascists of the world unite in oppressing the 1% by forming unions and buying crack with their welfare check. F’real. I read it on Drudge Report and Lucianne.com. I hear Rush Limbaugh is dedicating a whole hour to it today.

Let’s take a page out of the GOP playbook by making false equivalencies regarding socialism, fascism, and communism coming to a United States government near you! Continue reading →

Game of Thrones Deconstructed: Your Wish is My Command

So we enter the world of the swirling supernatural and in one fell swoop things in Game of Thrones are changed forever. We’ve learned at nearly the outset that anyone is susceptible to be felled by their own naiveté, bravado, cocksure attitude, or perhaps even by happenstance. Needless to say, if one doesn’t have his or her wits about them, the world can become a very cruel and lonely place. So it’s better to have allies as one attempts to navigate a world full of vipers and flicking dragon tongues. All claims to the throne must learn this lesson quickly or perish. So says the laws of Game of Thrones. Continue reading →
