Recipe Sunday: Greens Pie with Ricotta and Parmesan

Damn, this pie was good. Seriously delicious. The only drawback is that it’s made from ingredients that are readily available in Vermont in the summer, fall and even early winter, but not so much in February. So, you may not be able to find really quality greens to make this with either. But, if you’re shopping this afternoon, see some good looking greens and feel a twinge of nostalgia for a time of earlier bounty, you should give this a whirl. Continue reading →

Introducing Nerea, Your New Crasstalk Theme

It was April 30, 2011 when we purchased the Zillapress theme and shortly thereafter that we switched over. That’s way too long to keep one theme so we embarked on a journey to spruce the place up a bit. The design elements that we wanted for the new theme were something that put the emphasis on the posts and stayed away from too much clutter. project-runway-26Hey, hey, darlings! We’re back for another episode of Kabuki Dressmaking Theater! Last week, the denizens of Dressmaking Hell were tasked with participating in the Unconventional Materials challenge, with a twist! They needed to use plants and hardware! Two kinds of unconventional materials! Triple the ugly, folks, triple the ugly.

Joseph Aaron (what? he had two names?) made a particularly hideous garment. I’m sure he’d have done better had the challenge required him to use cat hair. Anyway, the judges hated his fugly shit and booted him. Continue reading →

“Conventions of Space and Time” Community Season 4 Episode 3 Live Blog

Donald_Glover_at_PaleyFest2Here we are in episode 3. The “study” group is off to an Inspector Spacetime Convention with the usual or unusual hijinks. One of these days we might see Study Room F again.

I liked last week’s episode. The one thing I enjoy about the Community Halloween episodes are the costume choices. I love that the writers always put Shirley in unexpected costumes, that Britta always gets an unflattering yet cute costume and Trobed match theirs.

Questions I had from last week’s episode: Continue reading →
