HIV/AIDS Researchers Make a Potential Breakthrough

Identifying the pathology and weaknesses of the HIV virus is problematic because of its ability to mutate and, in simplistic terms, hide in plain sight in the human body. Most research for a potential HIV vaccine has focused largely on boosting the ability of CD4+T, (T-cells), to fight the virus when introduced into the system. Did Kathryn Stockett Help Herself to the Nanny’s Story?

A Hinds County, Mississippi Circuit Court Judge has dismissed a lawsuit against Kathryn Stockett as it was filed after the statute of limitations had run out. The suit claims that the author used the likeness and the life story of her brother’s nanny to write The Help without permission. The judge who dismissed the suit did not comment on the claim’s merits. Continue reading →

The West Memphis Three May Be Released Today – Updated

The West Memphis Three may be released from prison today in a plea deal. Since their conviction and incarceration in 1994, Damien Echols has been on death row;  Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley, Jr. have been serving life sentences.

In May 1993, three young Cub Scouts, Stevie Branch, Michael Moore, and Christopher Byers, were brutally murdered. Their bodies were found in a drainage ditch in Robin Hood Hills, a suburban neighborhood in West Memphis, Arkansas. Continue reading →
