Celebrities sometimes say the darnest – meaning the most awesome – things.
Take Cristiano Ronaldo. Back in 2011, Dinamo Zagreb hosted Real Madrid for a Champions League match (translation for non-soccer/football fans: a Croatian team played a really big Spanish team in a really big soccer/football tournament). Ronaldo, who plays for Madrid, was booed by Zagreb fans. During a post-match press conference, he offered an explanation as to why he was jeered:
“La gente me envidia porque soy rico, guapo y gran jugador,” meaning “People are envious of me because I am rich, handsome and a great [football/soccer] player.”
Never change, Ronaldo.
