Recently Adobe was the target of a successful intrusion and data theft that resulted in the compromise of millions of accounts, encrypted credit cards, source code and who knows what else. The nice people at LastPass (the greatest password security product ever produced by humankind) have put together a great tool to tell you if your account was hacked and what you can do about it.
To test your account go here and enter any email address you might have registered with. Even if Adobe didn’t have any credit card information for you you might have used the same email and password combination on other sites. Those sites are now vulnerable and you should change any account that uses the same combo.
LastPass also has a handy tool to tell you what sites you’ve used the same password on and gives you a score so that you can work toward a world without password reuse.
They provide a similar service for other recent hacks:
- See if your LinkedIn password was compromised
- See if your Last.fm password was compromised
- See if your eHarmony password was compromised
