All the Possible Endings for Breaking Bad (That I Could Think of)

WalterWhiteGrafitiThere are a few things we know for sure about this Sunday’s Breaking Bad, but the rest is speculation.

Here I will speculate about how it all comes to an end. If you aren’t up to date on this season then you should avoid reading this because it will spoil you. Don’t do that to yourself. Also, there’s a Dexter spoiler in here.

From the flash forward we know that Walt goes back to his now abandoned house to fetch his little vile of poison and has an arsenal in his trunk. From that point on we know very little. Here are the ways I can imagine it going down.

  • Walt’s only desire is to take out those bastards Elliott and Gretchen who are the perceived cause of all his misery to begin with. If they hadn’t been such jackholes to him back in the day he never would have had to cook meth to pay for his cancer treatments. Then for them to badmouth him to Charlie Rose and the world is the final straw. He poisons Gretchen and shoots Elliott. He then turns himself in and confesses everything (but continues to lie about Skyler’s involvement).
  • There is a dual plan, the poison is for Elliott and Gretchen and the guns and ammo are for the Nazis. Walt goes down in a blaze of glory in order to free Jesse who he now realizes was just caught up in the Walt vortex of crazy.
  • Walt knows something about Gray Matter that will cause those lying jerks to be put in their place. The guns, ammo and ricin are all in service of killing Nazis. Walt knows that he can’t just shoot them all (that didn’t work out well for Gomez and Hank). He needs to poison as many of them as he can to level the playing field. In the mean time Jesse uses his superior knowledge of chemistry to kill Todd in the most satisfying way possible during one of their forced cook sessions. Walt and Jesse meet up unexpectedly realizing that they both have some Nazi killing to do. Walt dies in the shootout.
  • Realizing that there is no way for someone like him to live in this world Walt moves to Oregon to become a lumber jack. He ends up missing and parts of his body are found washing up on shore near Coos Bay, having been surgically removed from his torso and wrapped in plastic.
  • The Gray Matter stuff was all just to put the viewers off the trail of the real ending, it is not brought up again in the last episode. Instead Walt’s plan is to take out the Nazis and get his money back. In the process he accidentally (though the viewer is left to think that it might be on purpose) kills Jesse. He does kill the Nazis but his money ends up being set on fire and he’s left with nothing but a bad cough just like before he started cooking. He ruined everything and has nothing to show for it.
  • Walt has a moment of mental clarity and decides to go to the DEA. He gets them to setup a raid on the Nazi compound. Everyone dies including Jesse (they think he’s bad guy) and Walt goes to jail where the final scene shows him getting sub-standard medical care in prison and being on his death bed.
  • Walt clues in the DEA but doesn’t turn himself in. Instead he hatches a plan where the DEA will take out the Nazis but he believes that he can find a way to sneak his money barrels out. He fails and is left working as Saul’s new security guard in Nebraska.
  • In an attempt to kill the Nazis Walt is shot and killed,  but so it the head Nazi. Jesse is still chained up cooking meth for them. Todd takes over the family business and starts dating Lydia. Fans do not approve and riot in the streets.
  • Walt sneaks into the Nazi compound and uses their chemistry set against them. He rigs it so that the next batch they make forms a poison gas and then explodes. He kills Jesse in the process but gets his money back. The last scene is Walt working at the car wash and telling people to have an A1 day.

There must be countless others that I have missed. Guess away.
