iRobot Roomba Cleaning Robot for Pets and Allergies Review

Roomba770The idea of having a robot do anything in my home is instantly appealing thanks to the many robots who have appeared on my television and given me a grand dream of what robots might someday become. Is the Roomba an evolutionary step toward Rosie from The Jetsons?

The Roomba roaming around seemingly randomly through my house is officially the iRobot Roomba 770 Vacuum Cleaning Robot for Pets and Allergies. We have one large dog and primarily hard wood floors, with rugs in the master bedroom and livingroom. Roomba (iRobot likes to drop any ‘a’ or ‘the’ when referring to Roomba so as to make it more personal) took very little setup before being operational. Just some un-boxing and removing of packing material from the innards of the robot. Continue reading

You Should Be Less Excited about Cory Booker Becoming a Senator

Barring some sort of freak accident, Newark Mayor Cory Booker is a lock to win the Democratic nomination in today’s New Jersey special primary election. And if polls are any indication, he will cruise on to becoming NJ’s next senator, filling the late Frank Lautenberg’s vacant seat. Booker is probably best known for his side job as a local superhero, casually saving women from burning buildings and the like. This has made him a political rockstar with approval ratings floating in high 60s and a massive Twitter following. A young, popular African-American progressive running for Senate—what’s not to like? QOTD: What Sports Team Would Your Neighborhood Be?

photo (2)NBC Universal acquired the rights to broadcast English Premier League (EPL) matches (that’s football, meaning soccer). To promote their broadcasts of the upcoming season, the network made an ad with NYC neighborhoods and boroughs broken down as EPL teams.

Clever, but the breakdown is…questionable.

So pick a place and a sport. Which teams would you match up to your town/city’s neighborhoods (or country’s states/regions)?
