Where is Stephnie Weir Now?

stephnieAs a followup to our concise paean to the delightful Stephnie Weir back in 2011. You might wonder, what’s she up to in 2013?

Stephnie Carmel Weir (“Steph” to her friends and there is no “a”) is married to Robert Dassie, and has been since 2001. You recently saw Robert Dassie on “Community” as one of the AC Dudes. You do watch “Community,” don’t you? Of course you do.

Back to the subject at hand, she’s been a busy bee. For the past year, she has been a consulting producer on episodes of the Fox comedy “Raising Hope,” but that’s not all.

She wrote and produced a TV movie / series pilot called “Counter Culture,” which starred Margo Martindale, Kerri Kenney and Delta Burke, among others. Unfortunately, Delta Burke was injured in the spring of 2012, two days before the show’s main taping in front of a studio audience, and because Delta could not perform, the show did not go forward into series production.

Not one to rest on her laurels, Stephnie has been giving network execs the old razzle dazzle. Her show “Leisure Club,” from Sony Pictures TV and Original Films, has received a script commitment from NBC. The show is about a group of Baby Boomers living in a 55+ retirement community, who revert back to the archetypes they were in high school. This show is currently slated to air in the 2013 fall season.

In front of the camera, Stephnie can be seen in the short film “Manhattan Mixup,” which stars the lovely to look at Jason Ritter. She’s also appearing in the Thomas Lennon film “Eden Court” as Barb.

When she’s not writing, producing, or acting, she can also be found at Chicago’s Second City Theater dropping in from time to time and participating in improv productions.
