Big news coming out of Wisconsin today: Republican state senator Pam Galloway, targeted in the recall elections coming up has resigned effective immediately!
Galloway’s resignation has stripped the GOP of its majority in the state senate, which is now split 5/50 between Republicans and Democrats, and eliminates Governor Walker’s ability to cram through any further legislation. Galloway deciding not to contest the recall election also makes the path much easier for her Democratic opponent state representative Donna Seidel. In what is now functionally an open seat, the Democrats now have a much clearer path to controlling the state senate after these elections.
