Well, it finally happened. After 17 months, we finally got a start on season five of Mad Men. In this post, feel free to link us to recaps and dissect the hell out of the episode. Warning: The rest of this post will contain spoilers.
Here are some of my thoughts on the episode (not really in any particular order):
-Lane comes off as a creep in the episode. I have sort of a crush on him, but the exchange with him and the owner of the wallet’s girl just turned me off. I mean, how weird was that?
-I still love Bert and all his eccentricities.
-Where was Betty?
-I’m glad Peggy is still dating Abe.
-I hope that we get to see more interaction between Pete and Roger. It’s a relationship that I don’t think we’ve seen explored on the show before. Pete walking into the column in his office after his lunch meeting was priceless.
– Roger seemed to be trying to buy everyone out during the episode. Will he learn this season that money doesn’t get you everything?
– I was a little shocked to see that Pete had moved to the suburbs. I was sure that he and Trudy would have stayed in the city.
-The dynamic of Megan and Don’s relationship is very interesting. I wonder how much of them we will get to see and if this marriage will last.
There are other things that escape me now, but I will discuss with you in the comments.
