Political figure song mashups are now all the rage. We laughed hysterically at this one featuring robotic underworld money hoarder, Mitt Romney’s take on Eminem’s “The Real Slim Shady.” Now we’ve got another one starring PRESBO and LMFAO created by Baracksdubs and featured first on YouTube. But, of course, YouTube can hardly contain Obama saying the word “sexy.”
Baracksdubs also has a rendition featuring the POTUS singing Rihanna’s “Drink to That”, and Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.”
The time it must take to edit these things and put them all together must be insane. And to get them so well matched is a pretty ingenious, well, skill? Sure. It’s probably a good thing that for all the weird, uncomfortable moments we witness candidates experiencing on the campaign trail, eventually some good will come of it. Singing at the Apollo? Good. Singing “America the Beautiful?” Not so much. But we enjoy the levity and the escape from some of the other viral video gaffes we’ve come to expect from the fantastical barn of lunacy that is the presidential race. Yes? Yes, I’ll drink to that.
