Super Squats Club: The Music is Everything

Thirty minutes into a fourty-five minute jog is the worst — sweat is puddling into Great Lakes underneath you, the throbbing has begun to radiate up your leg, and you’ve jogged just long enough to convince yourself that stopping now would be OK because you’ve done ENOUGH.  SSC doesn’t like doing “enough.”

It’s at this moment that the music matters most.  The next song on your iBerry can either give your lazy arse the hint of motivation needed to knock out the last fifteen minutes like they stole your PopRocks or lull you into a utter state of boredom only rivaled by The Office.

For this post, let’s honor the music that makes the magic possible and I’ll start by giving you a few of favorites.

My workout music taste is upbeat, swag inducing, and beauty affirming. In the thick of the fitness drudgery, I need to beat to keep me peppy and lyrics that conform to my fitness moto — “if teh sexy were easy, everyone would have it”.  Cause let’s be real…boys are why I do what I do and my vanity is the only valid reason I have to deliberately torture myself.

SSC took a recharge hiatus because my life and I’m trying to determine what direction we should take.   In the future, these are going to vary a bit — the usual journal style, fitness news highlights, listiciles.  Post any of your ideas in addition to your favorite music.
