Last night I was awake at 4:30 AM and with no real chance of sleeping so I decided to go out to the couch. On TV I found the 1991 gem Nothing But Trouble starring Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, John Candy and Demi Moore. Plus a bonus cameo by Digital Underground. Since I wasn’t in my right mind, I decided to watch the entire movie.
This is easily the worst movie I have seen in years. Some research reveals that I’m not alone in this opinion. It won a Razzie award for worst supporting actor (Aykroyd).
The premise is dumb; uppity NYC types get caught in a small town speed trap. The town is run by a lunatic judge who kills everyone he catches, except Digital Underground. With no Humpty Dance to be found they agree to play at the shotgun wedding of Chevy Chase and the judge’s daughter played by a mute John Candy in drag.
I give it two thumbs down.
