Google Glass Is Pretty Much the Coolest Thing Ever

Above is the video from Diane von Furstenberg’s runway show during New York Fashion Week, created with Google’s Google Glass glasses (goggles?). Shot entirely by amateurs – the amateur cinematographers being models, makeup artists, and Diane von Furstenberg herself wearing Google Glass and going about their business, the DVF video gives us the first look at Google Glass in action.

This is more or less a science fiction movie come true. Geeks and nerds can surely point out a sci-fi movie or two where movie characters are wearing a prototype of these glasses. The possibilities for Google Glass are fairly limitless – imagine your favorite music artist wearing a pair during his or her concert? Countless memories can be preserved without having to hold up a camera to your face. The possibilities are pretty endless. The New York Times blog says they’re obtrusive-looking, but given that these glasses only weigh a few ounces already, I’d say its only the beginning of this technology and it’s easy to imagine seeing these as regular-sized sunglasses in the near future.

The only downside to Google Glass? You regular bozos can’t buy a pair yet. You can read more about Google Glass on their Google+ page.
