QOTD: Dirty Jobs

We’ve all had a dirty job or two, haven’t we? We had to get through high school and college working a series of demeaning and often unsanitary part time jobs. Today’s Question: What is the dirtiest job you’ve ever done? I’ve had more than my fair share, having started my life in the mountains and on farms. I was pulling eggs and cleaning the chicken coop every morning at 5am when I was eight years old. It was all downhill from there; mucking horse barns, milking cows, cleaning fish and game, mowing lawns, and cleaning houses. My first, and only, factory job had me standing in water that had just blanched spinach and all my work clothes were turned a light green. I worked for the YCC one summer pulling apart beaver dams that were flooding farmland. My favorite dirty job though, was working in veterinarians’ offices. Cleaning up after ill critters was a small price to pay for being able to work with pets and farm animals every day.
